May 30, 2018 - The Bite is on

Hi, Been very busy fishing with clients. The water has warmed up very quickly. Night crawlers have been the bait of choice recently for Walleye and Perch. 32nd of an ounce jigs tip with half a crawler have been working great. The perch have been in 6 to 12 feet during the day on darker stained lakes. The Walleye have been in shallow water late in the day - 3 to 10 feet in the rocks and off weed beds. The crappie have been going strong and have been in the shallow weedy areas. Try a small minnow. Bluegills are heating up as they are moving into the shallows. The Musky bite is on with opener this past weekend. Smaller baits are working great in this early season. We still have openings in June. We have two well equipped boats and can accommodate larger groups.

Hi, Its been a long cold and snowy winter. Still 30 inches of ice on the lakes as of yesterday. Went out for whitefish and cleaned up. I still have openings in May. Once this ice disappears which should be quick given its been in the 50's. Here is a pic of the Whitefish.

Opener 2017 through May 22

Started off the season in the UP for Brook Trout and slayed them. We put on 7 miles of walking beautiful rivers and creeks. Landed over 40 of these.

Have been busy with clients since opener and hitting some local rivers and mostly focusing on Walleye and Crappie. The weather has been a bit tough and the water level are high making it more challenging getting on the fish. Crappie were suspended and crappie minnows worked the best. Walleye were in 5 to 20 feet and fatheads were the bait of choice. I have days still open in May and the second half of June,

A great guy, Junior below and his wife went out and his smile says it all. They both caught some nice fish!

ICE Fishing 2016/2017

Ice fishing has been great lately. Plenty of ice on the lakes although this warm spell makes things a bit slushy. We have been focusing on Walleye and Whitefish. Also been catching blues and nice crappie. Walleye suckers are working best for Walleyes! Whitefish are hitting on waxies. If you are interested in getting out please let me know. Josh

Well opening day is getting near but ice fishing continues. Panfish have been hitting strong on waxies and minnows. Be careful as there is black ice out there. Fishing in 5-10 feet with the basics small jig or hook.

End of October Update

Walleyes continue to hit on fat heads. Had some hearty clients out today in the rain and wind. Our fingers were so cold it was hard to get our gloves on. The walleyes were deep - up to 57 feet deep and hungry. We brought our limit in today!  Muskies continue to be very hungry. Suckers rigged up and down in 25 feet of water is working well. Need to be very patient to catch Muskies at this time. Will post a report as I will be out with clients the next few days. Josh

Minnows and Suckers are the bait to have on the lake right now. Walleye have been hitting in 30 feet of water depending if the lake has turned over. Had a client out a couple days ago and we caught over 30 walleyes jigging off the bottom. On another trip we targeted perch and caught some nice 12 inchers with minnows in deep water! Crappie bite is on as well. A client caught a 16.5 inch monster crappie with a minnow in deeper water. Finally the Muskie bite is strong. Suckers fish suspended have been the key to this point. I will be posting some pics soon. Thanks to all my clients for making it a great year so far! Josh
